This is a powerful docuseries with a very creative title. People often wear a social veneer to conform to societal norms in a quest for acceptance when in reality they are masking deep internal pain which eventually manifests in destructive ways (e.g., addiction, depression, suicide, abnormal aggression, violence against others, murder, etc.). Mental health issues stem from a variety of sources such as psychological trauma or genetic disorders; some of which are hereditary. We need to stop referring to people with mental health issues and disorders in a derogatory fashion. How many times have you described someone as a psycho or told someone they were crazy as a put down? You need only to watch the evening news to understand that there is a mental health crisis going on in the world (e.g., the harming of helpless animals, the torturing, rape and/or murder of innocent children, violent attacks on the homeless, arsonists starting destructive fires, freeway shootings, mass shootings, etc.). We can only begin to tackle this monster by addressing the underlying issue of mental illness in an intelligent, constructive manner. And this all starts with a frank, non-judgmental discussion. The stakes are too high to ignore this any further.

The Ugly Truth About LAPD Detective Jerry Gibson (Serial No. 32645)

I waited a long time before I decided to post this letter that I received from LAPD Lieutenant Nicholas Sinibaldi in regards to LAPD Detective Jerry Gibson who I had a personal relationship with until he exercised poor judgement and decided to threaten me because he wasn't getting what he was persistently pursuing. Lt. Sinibaldi is one of the very few sworn personnel of the LAPD that I have interacted with who has integrity; and I have interacted with a lot. Little did Lt. Sinibaldi know at the time he wrote this that years later it would become an evidentiary document that would catch several sworn personnel of the LAPD (including Gibson himself and his former commanding officer Deputy Chief Peter Zarcone) making false statements, manufacturing content in official government documents (including in e-files) then generating further false and misleading documentation to cover up the later. Zarcone was also my brother Frank's commanding officer when he made false statements of a significant nature in a now evidentiary document to cover up an incident related to my father's untimely death as a consequence of the negligence and dereliction of duty of Sgt. The letter you received is one of a handful of form letters that could be sent out after a complaint is adjudicated.  Unfortunately, the wording in these letters is prescribed based one of a few possible adjudications.  We have no leeway in changing the wording they contain.  In some cases, the letters people receive from the police department may seem at odds with what they expected, but that is often because the letters are not allowed to be customized to suit every situation.  So, the letter which comes closest to describing the police department's findings is what is sent out to people who have made complaints.  

In this case, you made it clear you wished no action to be taken against Detective Gibson.  Therefore, the letter was the best one to accommodate your strongly expressed wish that the matter not affect him or his career.  If the letter had said he was guilty of something specific, that would have had a serious impact on his career.  Recall that you called me to insist that nothing happen to him.  Classifying the complaint as "Unfounded" satisfies your request that nothing happen to him. 

Please be assured that Gibson's record accurately reflects everything that you said (it was all on tape).  It was all fully documented and thoroughly reviewed starting with two police lieutenant's, then to his Captain, and all the way up to the level of a Deputy Chief.   There has not been anything that wasn't examined.  The police department spent several weeks working on your complaint.  Believe me, a lot of work already went into this. 

Gibson has been ordered not to ever contact you again, so please do not expect an apology from him.  Let me apologize on his and the Department's behalf.  We are all sorry this ever happened. 

As to the letter being detrimental to you, that is not the case.  The letter is confidential and has not, and will not be seen by anyone other than yourself, the person who signed it, and the clerk who filed it away.  We process thousands of these letters and have an unblemished record when it comes to their confidentiality.

There is nothing I can do beyond explaining the process, so I hope this was helpful.  If you have any more questions, please let me know..

Let's remember to show support for our law enforcement officers who are providing service in these very volatile, dangerous times. Let us not ever forget those who died in the line of duty. I am very thankful that throughout most of my life I had the privilege of living in racially mixed neighborhoods, going to racially mixed schools and working at racially mixed companies and law firms. And throughout the journey of my life, I have had many different close friends, male and female, of different ethnicities (i.e., White, English, Irish, Italian, German, Austrian, Australian, Dutch, American Indian, Jewish, Spanish, Persian, Samoan, Japanese, Filipino, African American, etc.). This molded me into a well-rounded, open-minded person sensitive to all cultures and to all ethnicities. My wish for all of humanity is that people can learn to see others through that unique lens.

Advocating For The Underdog

Ever since I was a little girl I have always advocated for the underdog. I have always defended those being bullied. I have always stood up for those being mistreated. I have always leant an ear to those who have needed to talk. I have always been friendly to the friendless. I have always been attentive to children and compassionate to the elderly. My empathy for others comes from being mistreated as a child by my older siblings who were jealous of me because I was the baby and my parents' favorite child. I was treated with a lot of hatred by my siblings just because I was alive. One sibling in particular, Liz Sebiane, was so mean to me that she was actually dangerous and my father was afraid to leave me alone with her when we were children. And all throughout my life that sibling was fixated on me and incessantly harassed me and tried to damage my life to the point that it became a serious legal matter. Remember the jealous sister in the movie The Bodyguard starring Whitney Houston who wanted Whitney's character (i.e., Rachel Marron) dead? It has been just like that. 

In the face of hatred throughout my childhood, however, the opposite happened to me. I learned to be kind, loving, respectful, sensitive to people's feelings and empathetic towards others.

If you feel weird, out of sorts or overwhelmed do not be embarrassed or ashamed to talk about it with a trusted source or to seek help (i.e., support, guidance, etc.). Let's take the stigma out of being human. We are living in very complicated, stressful times and we are not equipped as human beings to handle so much all of the time without being affected personally.  We often talk about physical health but what about our mental health? It is not a sign of weakness to admit to yourself or others that you are not okay. There is an unequivocal connection between our mind, body and soul. And if you want to be a balance person, you must be cognizant of all three.

Do you ever think about the struggles your parents went through, separately or together, so you could have a better life? If they are still alive hug them, tell them you appreciate everything they have done for you and that you love them because death is very permanent. People always talk about the way their parents have failed them but what about the way children have failed their parents? Sometimes our parents are hurting; feeling undervalued, unappreciated and lonely. 

My parents, who grew up in poverty, emigrated to the USA and became American citizens by proper legal process. This was no easy task as they first had to learn to speak, read and write the English language. Feeling separated from their country in a foreign land and facing seemingly insurmountable challenges and discrimination at every trajectory, they worked tirelessly as a team to provide for their family. And when their financial status progressed, they were extremely generous in ensuring that we were all set up to be successful in life. I was born in America because of my parents, am a college graduate of UCLA and a homeowner because of them. My brother, who was not born in America, was given everything by my parents, including a custom built home, and was able to become a Los Angeles Police Officer with a very generous retirement package despite not being a college graduate. He is set up for life but never did right by my parents. My siblings, who have a very misguided sense of entitlement, were and are horrible to my parents. The Adventures Of Professional Race Car Driver Bill Auberlen And Jacqueline Sebiane

I've known professional race car driver Bill Auberlen for many, many years. We've always had a very private and personal connection that never developed into a more meaningful grown-up relationship because of him, his issues and the way he rolls. I know him so well and what he will call this posting is "hype" for my blog because he has his own personal and convenient skew on our relationship over the years. He has surveilled me, befriended me, chatted me up, shared very personal parts of his life with me, taken me out, hung out with me, flirted with me, persistently pursued me, seduced me, sent me scores of sexually graphic direct messages, been super sweet to me, argued with me, insulted me, threatened me, put me in harms way and lied to me. I've ridden in his exotic cars (Ferrari, BMW M4) as he tried to impress me even though he knows that I am not easily impressed nor a push over. He knows me to be real with him and a ball buster. That, I believe, is what he could not handle. Anyhow, I caught him in one of his many lies one day when he told me that his ex-wife Yvette had an issue with him speeding while she was in the car with him. He told me that was not true. Now cut to the day he and I met up at the gym not long ago and he asked me to lunch. I was driving a new 5 series BMW and offered to drive but he wanted to impress me in his Matte M4 BMW so of course he said "I'll drive." What happened next was exhilarating and frightening at the same time. He got onto this stretch of highway (Crenshaw Boulevard) that is very long and curvaceous and, without warning, punched the gas accelerating the car from 0 - 60 (or more) MPH within just a few seconds. I literally temporarily blacked out and when I came to I was dizzy. And he was laughing. At the time it was exciting in a strange way. In retrospect, however, I realize that he put my life and his own in extreme danger even though he won't think so because he is a very skilled professional race car driver. Having done this on a regular street that is not a race track was reckless, irresponsible and illegal. Local law enforcement? After that experience I knew that he was lying to me when he told me he never sped on the streets with his ex-wife in the car.

Really, I Can't Breath

I am a firm believer in following the rules. At what point, however, does this mask mandate become unreasonable, irrational and counterintuitive to sustaining life. Breathing is life. If you stop breathing, you are no longer alive. If your brain is deprived of oxygen for a short time you will have brain damage. My rational mind is telling me that wearing a mask for anything other than a short period of time is unhealthy and unsanitary. We breath in oxygen and breath out carbon dioxide ("CO2"). Wearing a mask everywhere all the time for this long is restricting our normal breathing which I believe can have short term as well as long term deleterious effects. The rationale for the seemingly unending order to wear a mask is, we are being told, based on the science that doing so reduces the risk of spreading the virus. Whereas this might be true, what about the science of breathing normally. The level of CO2 in our bodies is what controls our breathing. When CO2 reaches a certain level, a signal is sent from the breathing center in our brain stem to the breathing muscles which triggers inhalation. Upon exhalation we exhale CO2 and a new breathing cycle starts. CO2 is being produced in our bodies all the time and when we breath we exhale the CO2 that has been built up in our bodies. The more active we are, the more CO2 is produced. That is why it is so important to breathe properly when we do strenuous exercise. And how can we properly expel the CO2 in our bodies and breathe the proper amount of oxygen in with a mask on our nose and mouth. We are breathing CO2 out onto that mask and breathing in whatever bacteria is being built up on that mask from the CO2 that leaves our bodies and the warm air coming out of our mouths. At the same time, we are not breathing in proper amounts of oxygen.

And if wearing a mask is so effective at stopping the spread of the virus according to what we are being told, then why is the virus still rampant according to the reports being published by the authorities? In my State of California 47 counties out of 58 are being reported as still in the "widespread" county risk level (https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/)   after almost an entire year of being ordered to wear a mask. Something is rotten in Denmark. 

I think it  is irresponsible for the author of this CDC article to advise people to wear a mask during "high-intensity" exercise in a gym or elsewhere that requires deep and proper breathing without cautioning of the dangers of becoming lightheaded, dizzy or passing out. And there are many, many people with lung conditions who really struggle with breathing in the normal course let alone being muzzled with a mask. No matter how cool the manipulative ad campaigns make it sound, e.g., "wear a mask, save lives" or "do it for your family" or "wear a mask, be a hero" this is wrong at this point (e.g., almost one year in) on so many levels. Nevertheless, let's continue being responsible and following government orders by masking up but at what point does this end?

The legendary golf phenom Tiger Woods sadly has had a serious car accident in my neck of the woods (i.e., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA USA). Below is the official word from his spokesperson on the matter. I specifically travel the road he had the accident on and all the neighboring roads quite often and have for most of my life during the time I have driven. These roads can be quite treacherous given certain circumstances (e.g., inclement weather, road construction, distracted driving, unsafe speed, other reckless drivers, etc.). As you know from reading my blog, I was personally involved with professional race car driver Bill Auberlen. We both reside in this area and one day not long ago he put my life at risk on one of these neighboring highways trying to impress me in his BMW M4. You'll read about that wild incident in a separate post. For now, I'd like to focus the attention on Tiger and his health and well being. I am sure I am speaking for fans all over the world when I say that we pray he have a full recovery and that God ease his pain.

The Case Of Whittier Police Officer Keith Boyer

 

This is a picture of Michael Christopher Mejia. Four years ago today he murdered Whittier Police Officer Keith Wayne Boyer after killing his cousin Roy Torres in East Los Angeles. 

Here is a reminder of what happened from the California Peace Officers' Memorial Foundation: 

At approximately 8:30am on Sunday, February 20, 2017, Whittier police officers responded to a traffic collision in the area of Colima Road and Mar Vista Street in Whittier.  Reportedly, one vehicle had rear-ended multiple vehicles.  When officers arrived on scene the victims stated the suspect had pushed his vehicle around the corner.  Officers made contact with the suspect and as they moved to pat him down the suspect produced a hand gun and opened fire, striking both officers. At least one officer returned fire, striking the suspect. Both officers were rushed to UC Irvine Medical Center. Tragically, Officer Keith Boyer did not survive. His partner was last listed in stable condition in the ICU.

It was later learned the suspect, a 26 year old known gang member, had been released on parole 10 days prior and was driving a stolen vehicle. The investigation is on-going.

Officer Keith Boyer, age 53, was a 27-year veteran of the Whittier Police Department.  He is survived by his children and parents. 

And here is an update on the case:

Mejia, who is now 30 years old, was charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, carjacking and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The prosecutor also filed special circumstance allegations in the case.

In 2018 the prosecutor announced in court that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office would seek the death penalty. 

Now cut to 2021. Mejia, who is awaiting trial, will no longer face the death penalty or life in prison without parole because the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, under direction of the newly elected L.A. District Attorney George Gascon, is seeking to dismiss many special circumstance allegations including murder of a peace officer in the performance of his duties and murder for the purpose of avoiding arrest.

According to sources when Mejia was asked by detectives during a taped interview if he had anything to say to the Whittier Police Department Mejia said, “I mean, train your guys better. Train your guys better. They just got a taste of an L.A. gang member, real L.A. gang member. You know what I mean? And, nope, I don’t feel sorry. Because I know they would’ve dropped me, they wouldn’t feel sorry for my family.”

When civilians are killed during deadly use of force incidents the public vehemently calls for justice as against the police. Let's extend the same sentiments and respect for police officers killed in the line of duty. Let's include our police officers in our equal justice initiatives. Please support our police officers. I am not referring to police corruption (i.e., willful misconduct, cover ups, etc.) and special privileges for cops which history has proven angers the vast majority of people. I am referring to the fact that police officers have a very dangerous job and behind the badge they are human beings like you and I.

Bad News U.S. Senator Ted Cruz

And so the news has broken that United States Senator Raphael Edward "Ted" Cruz jumped ship on the State of Texas that he represents to save himself and his family from the dangers, discomfort and chaos, especially the widespread power outage, caused by a severe winter storm. On 2-14-2021 Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the White House had issued a Federal Emergency Declaration for Texas in response to the severe winter weather throughout the state but Ted Cruz didn't care about the people. He only cared about his well being and that of his family. So he flew to Cancun Mexico in the wake of the storm. Then when he got caught and publicly confronted he used his daughters as pawns in a manufactured cock and bull story in a weak attempt to protect his public image. Unfortunately this is just another story of a dishonest, self-serving, untrustworthy, hypocritical career politician stone cold busted in an act contradictory to the obligations of the position for which he/she was elected. So many politicians spew false promises during the election process then when they get into office they misuse the position that we the people put them in to elevate their own life and career. There needs to be a legal accountability and removal process for lying ass politicians. Dishonesty and corruption always has and always will  bother me.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's life story is exceptional. Nothing happens by accident. This was his destiny. And it all started in the mind of an 11 year old Austrian boy. He had a vision of life in America which he methodically turned into step by step goals to create a life with purpose to achieve success for each of his respective goals and overall goal.

I often think of my own life and how my parents who grew up in abject poverty in Costa Rica and emigrated to the USA in their 20s for my destiny, which is still in progress, to unfold. I come from very humble beginnings yet my life has been personally and professionally immersed with ultra rich and famous celebrities.
