Really, I Can't Breath

I am a firm believer in following the rules. At what point, however, does this mask mandate become unreasonable, irrational and counterintuitive to sustaining life. Breathing is life. If you stop breathing, you are no longer alive. If your brain is deprived of oxygen for a short time you will have brain damage. My rational mind is telling me that wearing a mask for anything other than a short period of time is unhealthy and unsanitary. We breath in oxygen and breath out carbon dioxide ("CO2"). Wearing a mask everywhere all the time for this long is restricting our normal breathing which I believe can have short term as well as long term deleterious effects. The rationale for the seemingly unending order to wear a mask is, we are being told, based on the science that doing so reduces the risk of spreading the virus. Whereas this might be true, what about the science of breathing normally. The level of CO2 in our bodies is what controls our breathing. When CO2 reaches a certain level, a signal is sent from the breathing center in our brain stem to the breathing muscles which triggers inhalation. Upon exhalation we exhale CO2 and a new breathing cycle starts. CO2 is being produced in our bodies all the time and when we breath we exhale the CO2 that has been built up in our bodies. The more active we are, the more CO2 is produced. That is why it is so important to breathe properly when we do strenuous exercise. And how can we properly expel the CO2 in our bodies and breathe the proper amount of oxygen in with a mask on our nose and mouth. We are breathing CO2 out onto that mask and breathing in whatever bacteria is being built up on that mask from the CO2 that leaves our bodies and the warm air coming out of our mouths. At the same time, we are not breathing in proper amounts of oxygen.

And if wearing a mask is so effective at stopping the spread of the virus according to what we are being told, then why is the virus still rampant according to the reports being published by the authorities? In my State of California 47 counties out of 58 are being reported as still in the "widespread" county risk level (https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/)   after almost an entire year of being ordered to wear a mask. Something is rotten in Denmark.

I think it  is irresponsible for the author of this CDC article to advise people to wear a mask during "high-intensity" exercise in a gym or elsewhere that requires deep and proper breathing without cautioning of the dangers of becoming lightheaded, dizzy or passing out. And there are many, many people with lung conditions who really struggle with breathing in the normal course let alone being muzzled with a mask. No matter how cool the manipulative ad campaigns make it sound, e.g., "wear a mask, save lives" or "do it for your family" or "wear a mask, be a hero" this is wrong at this point (e.g., almost one year in) on so many levels. Nevertheless, let's continue being responsible and following government orders by masking up but at what point does this end?

Golf Phenom Tiger Woods' Car Accident In My Neck Of The Woods

The legendary golf phenom Tiger Woods sadly has had a serious car accident in my neck of the woods (i.e., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA USA). Below is the official word from his spokesperson on the matter. I specifically travel the road he had the accident on and all the neighboring roads quite often and have for most of my life during the time I have driven. These roads can be quite treacherous given certain circumstances (e.g., inclement weather, road construction, distracted driving, unsafe speed, other reckless drivers, etc.). As you know from reading my blog, I was personally involved with professional race car driver Bill Auberlen. We both reside in this area and one day not long ago he put my life at risk on one of these neighboring highways trying to impress me in his BMW M4. You'll read about that wild incident in a separate post. For now, I'd like to focus the attention on Tiger and his health and well being. I am sure I am speaking for fans all over the world when I say that we pray he have a full recovery and that God ease his pain.

The Case Of Whittier Police Officer Keith Boyer

This is a picture of Michael Christopher Mejia. Four years ago today he murdered Whittier Police Officer Keith Wayne Boyer after killing his cousin Roy Torres in East Los Angeles.

Here is a reminder of what happened from the California Peace Officers' Memorial Foundation:

At approximately 8:30am on Sunday, February 20, 2017, Whittier police officers responded to a traffic collision in the area of Colima Road and Mar Vista Street in Whittier.  Reportedly, one vehicle had rear-ended multiple vehicles.  When officers arrived on scene the victims stated the suspect had pushed his vehicle around the corner.  Officers made contact with the suspect and as they moved to pat him down the suspect produced a hand gun and opened fire, striking both officers. At least one officer returned fire, striking the suspect. Both officers were rushed to UC Irvine Medical Center. Tragically, Officer Keith Boyer did not survive. His partner was last listed in stable condition in the ICU.

It was later learned the suspect, a 26 year old known gang member, had been released on parole 10 days prior and was driving a stolen vehicle. The investigation is on-going.

Officer Keith Boyer, age 53, was a 27-year veteran of the Whittier Police Department.  He is survived by his children and parents.

And here is an update on the case:

Mejia, who is now 30 years old, was charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, carjacking and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The prosecutor also filed special circumstance allegations in the case.

In 2018 the prosecutor announced in court that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office would seek the death penalty.

Now cut to 2021. Mejia, who is awaiting trial, will no longer face the death penalty or life in prison without parole because the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, under direction of the newly elected L.A. District Attorney George Gascon, is seeking to dismiss many special circumstance allegations including murder of a peace officer in the performance of his duties and murder for the purpose of avoiding arrest.

According to sources when Mejia was asked by detectives during a taped interview if he had anything to say to the Whittier Police Department Mejia said, “I mean, train your guys better. Train your guys better. They just got a taste of an L.A. gang member, real L.A. gang member. You know what I mean? And, nope, I don’t feel sorry. Because I know they would’ve dropped me, they wouldn’t feel sorry for my family.”

When civilians are killed during deadly use of force incidents the public vehemently calls for justice as against the police. Let's extend the same sentiments and respect for police officers killed in the line of duty. Let's include our police officers in our equal justice initiatives. Please support our police officers. I am not referring to police corruption (i.e., willful misconduct, cover ups, etc.) and special privileges for cops which history has proven angers the vast majority of people. I am referring to the fact that police officers have a very dangerous job and behind the badge they are human beings like you and I.

Bad News U.S. Senator Ted Cruz

And so the news has broken that United States Senator Raphael Edward "Ted" Cruz jumped ship on the State of Texas that he represents to save himself and his family from the dangers, discomfort and chaos, especially the widespread power outage, caused by a severe winter storm. On 2-14-2021 Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the White House had issued a Federal Emergency Declaration for Texas in response to the severe winter weather throughout the state but Ted Cruz didn't care about the people. He only cared about his well being and that of his family. So he flew to Cancun Mexico in the wake of the storm. Then when he got caught and publicly confronted he used his daughters as pawns in a manufactured cock and bull story in a weak attempt to protect his public image. Unfortunately this is just another story of a dishonest, self-serving, untrustworthy, hypocritical career politician stone cold busted in an act contradictory to the obligations of the position for which he/she was elected. So many politicians spew false promises during the election process then when they get into office they misuse the position that we the people put them in to elevate their own life and career. There needs to be a legal accountability and removal process for lying ass politicians. Dishonesty and corruption always has and always will  bother me.

Motivation By Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger's life story is exceptional. Nothing happens by accident. This was his destiny. And it all started in the mind of an 11 year old Austrian boy. He had a vision of life in America which he methodically turned into step by step goals to create a life with purpose to achieve success for each of his respective goals and overall goal.

I often think of my own life and how my parents who grew up in abject poverty in Costa Rica and emigrated to the USA in their 20s for my destiny, which is still in progress, to unfold. I come from very humble beginnings yet my life has been personally and professionally immersed with ultra rich and famous celebrities. And yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger (my former co-worker who reads my blog). Hi Patrick!

Young Arnold Schwarzenegger And The Amazing Samir Bannout

Years ago when I trained at Gold’s Venice I kept my professional legal career in entertainment law working as the right hand to Arnold’s attorney Jake Bloom together with his nephew Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger a big secret. Just like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold was at the height of his fame especially as a worldwide action movie star.  He was, and will always be, one of the biggest stars both in the bodybuilding world and the motion picture industry. I am a very loyal and trustworthy person. And at the time, being very loyal to Jake Bloom and Arnold Schwarzenegger,  I didn’t want anyone trying to use me for connections or insider information. There were only a select few like my parents, Joe Gold (the “Gold” in Gold’s Gym), Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger and my German training partner Erika Andersch who know about it. I was silently proud, however, that I had achieved that position of playing an integral role in negotiating multimillion dollar movie and endorsement deals for A-level talent all on my own merit. A skill and talent that later in my career I carried over into the niche of elite athlete endorsement deals for highly decorated Olympic athletes like Michael Phelps.

Thanks for this great photo Samir Bannout.

The World Health Organization's Q & A Regarding The COVID-19 Vaccine

Do you know what the phrase a double-edged sword means? It means that something can have both favorable and unfavorable consequences. The COVID-19 vaccine is, to me, a double-edged sword. The seemingly never-ending COVID-19 pandemic has presented each one of us with a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. The COVID-19 vaccine is not a panacea. It's efficacy, longevity and safety is still a work-in-progress and a lot of the questions we have about the vaccine are understandably being answered with ambiguity. Regardless, people are turning up in droves to be vaccinated for fear of dying because the media has created such a panic that people are afraid to be human (i.e., afraid to breathe, afraid to be around people, afraid to just be). This is a true risk assessment situation. Does the risk of becoming infected with a potentially deadly virus  outweigh the risk of becoming ill from a very new vaccine? Does the benefit of a potentially life saving vaccine outweigh the risk of becoming seriously ill or dying or continuing to perpetuate the spread? Even though I know that the risk of going unvaccinated is higher for some people than for others (i.e., the elderly, the immunocompromised, those with pre-existing conditions, etc.), I believe that the ambiguity on how our bodies will react if we indeed become infected makes this a no brainer. Nevertheless, listen carefully to the information being published about the vaccine and make your choice on whether or not to get vaccinated judiciously. The decision for most people on whether or not to get vaccinated is an overwhelming yes. I remain cautiously optimistic.

Inspiration From My Friend Samir Bannout

Amidst all the complexities swirling around in the current state of our world, don't forget about your dreams. The clock is ticking. Life has a beginning and an end.

I am very inspired and impressed by the story of my friend professional bodybuilder Samir Bannout. There is no doubt in my mind that he faced many challenges and obstacles growing up in Lebanon. However, he had a dream which, with drive, determination and hard work, he turned into his reality.

What is the lesson? Whatever your dream, you can do the same. So don't forget about you, your life and your dreams.

Let This Be Our Prayer...

I pray You'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go

And help us to be wise in times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way

Lead us to a place, guide us with Your grace

To a place where we'll be safe...

U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick End Of Watch

I struggled for the words that comprise the content of this posting. With great pain I watched the film footage of Washington, D.C. Police Officer Daniel Hodges being crushed by an angry, violent mob of insurgents who breached the United States Capitol for no other reason than to create mayhem, destroy property and cause innocent people bodily harm. To watch police officers who were outnumbered being attacked and beaten while they defended the U.S. Capitol was disturbing. Then to hear that U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick lost his life as a consequence of the siege was truly heartbreaking. I post a lot about corruption, which unfortunately includes police misconduct. However, make no mistake about it, I genuinely support the police and each individual police officer who lays his/her life on the line each time they show up for duty. If it is at all unclear, this unamerican incident exemplifies the fact that police officers run into the face of danger to maintain societal order and keep the public and our property safe while sometimes paying a very heavy personal price of emotional trauma, severe injury and loss of their own life in the line of duty. We should be protecting, defending and supporting our police officers.

Rest in peace Officer Brian Sicknick. Get well soon Officer Hodges. Justice will be served.

Let My Heart Be Still For It is Beautiful Christmas

Slow down. Rest your soul. Let it all go. Be silent. Listen. Let your heart be full for it is beautiful Christmas Day; the day of the birth of our precious Lord. The one and only true gift sent to us from almighty God above through immaculate conception for our salvation from eternal damnation at the inevitable time that our bodies separate from our souls. May God bless you, yours and the dearly departed on this high holy day.

Hope On The Horizon

Let's do what we have to do not to get back to where we were for that is what got us where we are. Let's move forward to a place where we are better than where we were with a new awareness. I never understood why people, in general, did not practice good personal hygiene and businesses, in particular, did not practice safe sanitation practices. Grocery shopping carts are so nasty; a petri dish of bacteria. For years I use to travel by airplane quite frequently and I always carried a mini can of Lysol and a baby bottle of Purell Hand Sanitizer in my purse. Each morning at work I would wipe down the door knob to my office, my computer keyboard, my desk and my telephone hand set. In public, I have always been cautious about frequently touched surfaces and asked people who made me food to use gloves and to change their gloves. At church when it was time to either greet people in the pews or say "peace be with you" with a hand shake, I never extended my hand but rather put my hands together using eye contact and orating "peace" to avoid the vector of the hand to hand contact. I have always kept a safe personal distance from others, when possible, and expected those in close proximity of me to reciprocate. Did people get pissy about my personal practices? Sure they did. Did I give a damn? No I did not. I was keeping myself safe; I was ahead of the times we are now living in. And some of the people who scoffed at my "germaphobia" were suddenly singing my praises. So moving forward, let's do what we have to do to keep ourselves and others safe. I think it is normal to be reasonably skeptical about any COVID-19 vaccine. After all, this is a risk vs. risk decision we are faced with. Do we stay unprotected and risk getting the virus which can be extremely detrimental to our bodies and even deadly? Or, do we get injected with a new vaccine with possible deleterious effects as of yet unknown. The COVID tests, processing labs and makers of the vaccine are, after all, money making machines as a result of this pandemic. That alone makes you leery. And the panic aspect of the pandemic is the fan that fuels the flames. I am, nevertheless, very grateful for the scientists and pharmaceutical companies that have provided us with a lifeline and the option as to whether or not to get vaccinated. So, keep in mind that the mandates that have been imposed on us (i.e., wearing a mask like a muzzled dog that significantly and unhealthily restricts our breathing and the unrealistic expectation of not being around any people in a world full of people) cannot be sustained long term. Let's follow the rules as long as reasonably practicable and let's use some common sense. Aren't you sick of hearing about the "virus" from morning to night day in and day out for so, so long? I am over it. So let's do this. Be well and God bless.

Evidence For The LAPD Directly From LAPD Sgt. Joel Sydanmaa's Social Media

Once again after seeing a large volume of traffic to a blog posting I published about LAPD Sergeant Joel Sydanmaa  https://jacqibone.blogspot.com/2016/07/lapd-sergeant-joel-sydanmaa-on-job.html [including a related posting https://jacqibone.blogspot.com/2020/09/i-believe-in-karma-lapd-sgt-joel.html] I learned that the LAPD is finally starting to pay attention to certain information I have relentlessly been trying to get the LAPD to take action on. Some of my strongest personality traits are honesty, integrity, strength and courage to fight against things that are not right; including police misconduct.

Above is a photo (i.e., photographic evidence) of LAPD Sergeant Joel Sydanmaa that he posted to his social media in or about the date of June 25, 2016 obviously misusing his position as an LAPD officer for his own personal aggrandizement. The image of him in the photo might be impressive if he were a Cirque du Soleil performer but he is not. He is being paid very handsomely to protect and serve. The question remains whether or not he was on duty when he had this photo taken and who was behind the camera taking the photo. Was it a fellow LAPD officer also on duty collaboratively violating relevant policies of the LAPD Department Manual and misappropriating city time on tax payer dollars? Or did LAPD Sgt. Joel Sydanmaa misuse the uniform of the LAPD on his personal time?  I have, on a firsthand basis, witnessed the misconduct and dereliction of duty of LAPD Sgt. Joel Sydanmaa who, in my opinion, needs to turn in his badge. We are not stuck with him as he so arrogantly states in his social media posting of July 12, 2016. His dereliction of duty in September of 2015 ultimately contributed to the hastening of my father's death. I am awaiting the LAPD to contact me on that matter for which I will give testimony as against Sydanmaa in prospective administrative and legal proceedings; including the lawsuit Sydanmaa has recently filed against the LAPD on November 16, 2020 for disciplinary action taken against him for improper social media posts.

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-11-18/lapd-sergeant-sues-disciplined-social-media-posts-nipsey-hussle

And this may or may not be a bombshell to the commanding staff at the LAPD. On July 15, 2016, I submitted this photographic evidence of Sydanmaa to Captain Brian Thomas and informed him that Sydanmaa was publishing inappropriate social media postings. My email to Captain Thomas reads, in pertinent part, "Second, I would like to bring Sgt. Joel Sydanma’s social media postings to the attention of the LAPD; some of which are in violation of the LAPD’s policies as delineated in the Department Manual and many of which may have a negative effect on the already volatile community relations. I wrote about one of Sydanmaa's postings on my blog being viewed globally: http://jacqibone.blogspot.com/2016/07/lapd-sergeant-joel-sydanmaa-on-job.html. I have also attached an inappropriate photo Sgt. Sydanmaa posted on social media in violation of the Department Manual's policy regarding use of the LAPD’s uniform."

LAPD Sgt. Joel Sydanmaa underestimated my intelligence in his interactions with me when he grossly violated my rights and those of my father who is now a decedent as a consequence of Sydanmaa's willful dereliction of duty. Civilian "detective style" investigator Jacqueline Sebiane on the case.

Taking Care Of Our Parents And The Elderly

This is a sweet reminder from the beautiful Rachel McLish to be strong for the weak; especially our parents and the elderly who get progressively more fragile with time.

I come from a very broken, dysfunctional family. I don’t mind sharing my story if it helps people in the same or similar situation. Out of numerous adults, I am the only one who selflessly takes care of my elderly mother who has significant mobility and health issues. I have made many personal sacrifices to do this and it is not a glamourous job but I do it with great honor. And just like the superhero vigilante crime fighter Superman, I have taken many bullets to the chest, metaphorically speaking, and used my superpowers to protect my mother; including her assets that were aggressively illegally pursued prior to and upon my father’s untimely death. And most of those bullets came from unsavory, downtrodden family members with ulterior motives of jealousy, hatred, greed and revenge.

So, if you are blessed enough to have an elder in your life (i.e., father, mother, paternal or maternal grandparents or great grandparents), please do what you can to take care of them and help them. They need you in more ways that you can imagine.

Love And Support For The Men And Women Of Law Enforcement

Let us not forget the critical role that law enforcement plays in keeping us all safe and secure. Let us not stereotype all cops but rather work for the common good of all which starts with honor and respect for each individual police officer who makes so many personal sacrifices to protect and serve. Sending out positive vibes to the Torrance Police Department and all law enforcement agencies doing the best they can with the resources available in very trying times; including the overwhelming anti-police sentiments currently prevalent in society. As the sister and victim of a rogue LAPD officer, I know both sides of this coin yet I believe in the greater good of humanity. We will get through this and we will persevere.
